Has this ever happened to you? Messy carrots everywhere! try the amazing rice cereal.
I'm either dumb and the last person to think of this or I'm a friggin' genius. Some people will say "duh!" to this others will want to try it. You heard me complain about the runnyness of the carrots, I found the same to be true of the green beans. It makes it really hard to keep any of it in the kid's mouth. So tonight, as the first 2 spoonfuls ran right out of his mouth, I decided to pour some rice cereal into the cup from which I was serving tonight's veggies. It thickened right up to a consistency that he was able to keep in his mouth. He ate it all with very little getting on himself or the high chair.
So either you already know about this (second time mothers are rolling their eyes now) or you've just learned a good trick for getting baby food to stay in a baby's mouth.
Either way.

Another good hint that we are loving around here is if you freeze the food in ice cube containers and then put them (you have to break in half) into those food web feeders it is nice and cold on their popping teeth gums but they get the food too. Em is digging the frozen sweet potatoes and peas and of course the fruits :) Makes a mess but it's too cute :)
I'll have to remember that once he gets a tooth or two. My plan was letting him gnaw on a frozen hot dog. . . your idea is much better.
I can't stand how runny some of the foods are. I use to mix it in with his cereal, but then I was worried he wasn't getting the true taste of it. I like the web feeders too. Carter loved his. We would freeze a bannana and put it in there or a frozen peach and he would bite that thing for hours. It was so messy but he loved it so it was o.k. I have 2 ready for Peyton when he starts.
